August 27th @ 8am – 10am PT
PCA San Diego is inviting you to join us for Cars and Conversations every last Sunday of every month from 8am – 10am.
For the month of August, please join us at Mt. Soledad in the lower parking lot.
- ALL Porsche Models are welcome. There will not be a highlight feature for the month of August as we’re doing something different to tie into Werks Reunion in Monterey.
- Although we tried to select locations with restroom facilities, please keep in mind that the public restrooms may be closed during the event and we have no control over the facilities.
- With the change in format, we have secured a mobile coffee truck called Beetlebean Street Cafe (IG:Beetlebean68.) We ask that you help support this local business on the day of the event so that they may continue to be our mobile coffee truck option for our rotating monthly Cars and Conversations events.
Meet at: Mt Soledad Lower Parking Lot at 8am, 6905 La Jolla Scenic Dr S, La Jolla
Highlight for the month: People’s Choice Award
For the month of August, we’re going to do something a little different to try and tie in with Werks Reunion in Monterey. If you’ve ever been to Werks Reunion, you’ll know that one of the main draws is walking the event and checking out all of the cars parked waiting to be judged. Well, we’re going to do something similar so instead of featuring a highlight for the month of August, we’re going to hold a People’s Choice Award vote.
All Porsche cars in attendance are welcome to participate at no cost to you. It’s free so just show up. Feel free to bring anything to help showcase your car. Maybe your car was featured in a magazine; bring the magazine. Maybe you’ve entered the car in other comps and won trophies; bring the trophies. Maybe you’ve received a description display from another event; bring it. Bring whatever you want to help showcase your car or to help set it apart.
What does the People’s Choice Award actually mean? Well, we’re going to ask all attendees and the general public to cast their vote for whatever car they want to vote for. There will be no category to judge. It will simply be whichever car you feel deserves your vote. You might vote for the cleanest car or you might vote for the highest mileage car or you might vote for the most original car or you might vote for the car with your favorite color, etc. Again, it’s your choice of who you cast your vote for. We will award 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes so get your car prepped and ready for the People’s Choice Award.

Please know that when you’re attending these events, you’re representing Porsche Club of America San Diego Region and the greater Porsche community. The locations that we select are all in our own neighborhoods with many folks walking around whether it be with kids, dogs, grand parents, friends, tourists, etc. With that being said, please enter/exit the event and community in a clam, safe, respectful, quiet, and responsible manner. That means no revving your engine. No loud music. No speeding. No Tokyo Drifting. Hopefully, you get the message.
We do not want to receive complaints and then jeopardize these events as they have been very well received. Please do not be the one to ruin it for the rest of us as that is how we basically ended up at Jessie’s Bake Shop.
Lastly, since there is only one of me, if you witness someone doing anything that jeopardizes the event, please call them out on the spot and bring it to my attention. We’re all in this together and sometimes, it takes a village.
