My message is a little later than usual this month; I wanted to wait to see about today, re-opening day. Looks like it is really going to happen! Social distancing, capacity limits and broad facial covering mandates are going away in most situations (though those not yet vaccinated should still wear them).

In response to this, the club is cranking up our social events, returning to our normal schedule after the year-plus hiatus. As we speak, plans are in the works for our annual new member party, volunteer party, Porsche Prom (aka Installation dinner), Progressive dinner, and Mystery weekend. Our monthly Cars & SDR is back on the last Sunday of the month and we‘ve started a new event, our SUVs and Coffee on the second Saturday. We will also soon see a return to live, in-person Tech Sessions and board meetings.

To kick off our Last Tuesday Social gatherings, we are holding a special one tonight in celebration of re-opening. In typical Last Tuesday fashion, it is no host, no RSVP, no reservations needed. Just show up when you can, starts at 6 PM, scheduled to go to 8 PM or thereabouts. The location is Kensington Brewery, 4067 Adams Avenue. While more related to facility issues than COVID issues, this fall will see us reboot the autocross series as well, at the new location, the Lake Elsinore Stadium (500 Diamond Drive, Lake Elsinore, California 92530). We have two autocross dates secured, Oct 2 and Dec 5, and the date for our next Performance Driving School is Nov 20 & 21 (same location). Qualcomm stadium is gone, we need to embrace the new reality.

In addition to all this, we have some new things in the works as well. More on that later, as plans solidify. Couple all of this with our driving tours and track events, and we are rapidly going to see our calendar return to normal.
