January 2020 Message from PCA-San Diego Region President

What’s happening in PCA San Diego Region?

This scheduled monthly message is to all PCA-San Diego Region members for January 2020 from Keith Verlaque – this year’s PCA Region President.

I hope you had a good Holiday season and are recharged and ready to plunge into an exciting year for 2020 with SDR.

As far as our Region is concerned, huge thanks are due for a busy and exciting 2019 with president Victoria Varon, her Board of Directors at the wheel and the team of volunteers who helped them make our region as much fun as it has been to date. The new board of directors is determined to at least match last year’s level of enjoyment for our members and to try our best to exceed it for 2020.

I realize that our members have full and busy lives and are not searching for things to do. Having said that, I recommend you utilize some of your prized leisure time to come along and try a club event and see what all the fuss is about. There are so many SDR events going on that provide a great deal of enjoyment to all, that you would definitely be remiss not to try one. The end of this message gives a list of events happening in January which I recommend you take a look at and give any that take your fancy a try. If you don’t see anything you’d like to do, and have a suggestion for the club to consider, please let us know.

We are planning the usual list of events plus a few new and some extended activities for our members in 2020.

What’s about to happen in PCA San Diego Region?

The largest opportunity in the coming year is that PCA National is holding the 65th Annual PCA Paradehere in Sothern California.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with a PCA National Parade, every year the Porsche Club of America selects a city which hosts a week long event open to all PCA members. These events are based around activities involving your Porsche and consist of Concours, Rally, Autocross and Tech Quiz, all liberally sprinkled with banquet dinners in between for Porsche owners from all over the USA. Porsche Parades are tremendous fun for all the family and consist of some competitive and some non-competitive activities. They are intended to provide a complete selection for everyone from passionate Porsche owners who enthusiastically clean their cars, through the most competitive of drivers, to those who just want to enjoy meeting friends with similar hobbies and interests. If you’ve never been to a Parade, this is your opportunity to try one. The last Parade in Southern California was San Diego in 2007.

WE ARE HOPING SAN DIEGO REGION MEMBERS WILL HAVE A SIGNIFICANT PRESENCE AT THE 2020 PARADE …. Let’s take ‘em by storm!!

Watch out for upcoming data on Porsche Parade 2020from June 21 – 27 in La Quinta near Palm Springs promises to be spectacular event. For more information please check the Dec 2019 National PCA magazine Porsche Panorama or click HERE and scroll to the bottom of the webpage. For those interested in participating, Parade registration opens to all PCA members on the PCA National website on January 28.
