Description: Engineers road is a narrow 1 1/2 lane road that snakes thru the Cuyamaca Rancho State Park. Traffic is very light and there are several 180 degree, level switchbacks. There are several homes but the majority of the area is wooded mountainside.

Access: Boulder Creek Rd / Hwy 79.

Difficulty:
Numerous elevation changes and copious amounts of tight twisties and blind turns make this a road you want to drive at 6/10ths.

Road Condition:
Well maintained road; watch for the occasional sand and gravel after rains.

Traffic:
Traffic is light, however the road is extremely narrow – be wary of oncoming traffic.

Scenery:
Engineer’s Road includes several points with great views, however there are no designated turnouts. This road is best enjoyed with both hands on the wheel and your eyes on the road.

Length: 5.4 miles

Attractions: Not much in the way of amenities on this remote road – except for the ear to ear grin it provides.
