Description: This two-lane road that snakes its way through many of east counties beautiful avacado and citrus orchards, providing drivers with expansive views of the area’s distant, mountainous vistas.

Access: Best enjoyed from the west, take Interstate 15 to Pomerado Road, then a left on to Highland Valley Road toward Romona.

Difficulty:
This section of road has everything you need; tight corners, twists, elevation changes and fast straightaways.

Road Condition:
A wonderfully maintained road, however you may experience occasional sand and gravel from the local farms after rain.

Traffic:  
Traffic is light during the weekday, however it becomes a fairly main thoroughfare on the weeekends, making it easy to get stuck behind slower cars or groups of bikes.

Scenery:
The scenery is beautiful as you climb through rolling hills and lush forests. This area is known for its orchards and picturesque villas, so you should have no problems finding snap-worthy moments!

Length: 13.4 miles

Attractions: There isn’t much in the way of roadside amenities on this road. If you need supplies, you’re best bet is to look for them beforehand in Rancho Bernardo or afterward in Romona.
