Savor nine of Spain’s finest wines, each perfectly paired with a delectable dish from the same region, without stepping foot on a plane!

Our Culinary Tour of Spain will feature dishes created by Chef Ron Oliver, 2010 San Diego Chef of the Year and former Chef de Cuisine of the iconic La Jolla Marine Roomwhere he led them to 8 consecutive “Best San Diego Restaurant” awards. He is also the author of 3 award-winning cookbooks. Throughout his career, Ron has traveled the globe tasting, savoring, and noting foods of the various regions. “I travel to discover native ingredients and cooking methods for my menus, but the perspective I gain on life can be an ever bigger discovery. The idea that food is a gift from the earth, that cooking is an act of love, and that eating is socially unifying, are all concepts I’ve learned through travel. Being able to share those experiences with others on a nightly basis as a chef is the best reward.” So I think you can agree, we are all in for quite a treat! 

Our trip begins with a delightful Rosé Cava bubbly, and a tangy Manzanilla Sherry served with traditional nibbles. We’ll savor two refreshing, complex whites from Rueda and Rias Baixas, then move on to reds– two Riojas, one a Gran Reserva, followed by a Ribera del Duero, and a Priorat. We’ll conclude our tour with a dessert Sherry called Pedro Ximenez— hard to say, easy to love! Wine Educator Anastasia Berta will speak about each wine, and explain why the wine and food pairing works.

Price includes all food and drink, featuring 9 different wines, each paired with Chef Ron’s extraordinary cuisine. 

The event will be located in a member’s home in Point Loma. Location will be sent to all registrants.
