Sending you this month’s missive from French Lick, Indiana, where I am attending the PCA Parade with Susan and my daughter’s family. This is the third time Susan and I have driven to Parade. This year we went through Colorado, visiting Durango, Telluride and Breckenridge and then headed east through Kansas, Missouri and Illinois. Our return trip will take us north, into Michigan, to visit friends, and then back west via the upper peninsula to visit my sister in Montana.

If you’ve not been to Parade, it is something every club member should do at least once. It is our club’s national convention and includes a full week of all your favorite activities: Concours, Autocross, TSD Rally, Gimmick Rally, Driving Tours, Tech Sessions and plenty of social activities.

In 2020 the Parade was supposed to be in Southern California, but unfortunately it was a COVID casualty. However, all that planning work will not go to waste as PCA was able to reschedule it for 2023. While it may not be a real “getaway” vacation for us in the area, 2023 will give you an easy opportunity to see what Parade is all about.

Can’t wait until 2023? Next year the Parade will be in Pennsylvania, in the Poconos at the Kalahari Resort.

Closer to home, I’d like to remind everybody that San Diego Region is once again fully open for business. On Saturday, the 17th, we have our SUV’s and Coffee event, followed by Cars and SDR the following week on the 25th. Tuesday the 27th is host to our Last Tuesday Social. Last but not least, on Thursday, July 29, we have a New Member Social, which is open to all members but is designed to introduce new members to the club and the region.

Heads Up: Our August board meeting will be live and in person – the first since the COVID restrictions have been relaxed.
